Description
Ulua season is in full swing here in Hawai`i. Our season spans from the months of April to July. Ulua fishing island style means no boat, no sonar, no wenching it high for posing at the dock. It’s just you with a rod and bait along the shore plus muscle and courage. They are an excellent food and sport fish.
This is an original gyotaku of a giant trevally, known locally as Ulua. Printed in the direct method of gyotaku onto washi paper using a non-toxic soy-based ink so that it could be enjoyed in a meal afterwards. It is PH neutral (acid free). The paper measures 20 inches x 38 inches and has a soft deckle edge.
Titled “Ulua aukea (Caranx ignobilis)” in the lower left corner. Signed in pencil and stamped with my red chop in the lower right corner. Your art will come with a certificate of authenticity.
Due to its size, it will be safely shipped rolled into a mailing tube.
