Description
Flying fish, known in Hawaii as “malolos” wing-like fins that enable them to fly for remarkable distances before returning back to the water.
This is an original, one-of-a-kind, hand-rubbed impression taken from a replica flying fish. Printed using the direct method of gyotaku using an archival, water soluble, printmaking ink that is oil-based and rubbed onto unbleached mulberry paper. It is PH neutral (acid free). The paper measures 11 x 14 and has a soft deckle edge, which looks great “floated” in a frame, rather than mounting it under a mat.
Titled in the lower left corner and signed in pencil and stamped with my red chop in the lower right corner. Includes a signed certificate of authenticity.
