Description
The scientific name for the Hawaiian green sea turtle is Chelonia mydas, but the Hawaiian name is simply: “Honu.” Despite their status as an endangered species, there are relatively common sightings around the coral reefs in Hawaii waters. In addition to feeding and resting, honu in Hawaii can also be observed basking on sunny beaches.
This is a limited edition print of the original rubbing that was taken from a casting of a baby sea turtle titled “Baby Honu”. Each print is matched to the original with meticulous accuracy and created using the finest museum quality archival paper and pigment-based inks, so you can enjoy your artwork for many years to come.
The edges of the paper are deckled, and can be framed either behind a mat or “floated” above a backing to show off the paper’s deckled edges.
Your print will be accompanied with a signed and numbered Certificate of Authenticity.
