Description

In Hawaii, “`Ahi” refers to two species, the Bigeye Tuna and the Yellowfin Tuna. They are being fished sustainably and can weigh as much as 200 pounds but smaller fish, like this one, are usually caught around fish aggregation buoys and over seamounts.

This is an original, one-of-a-kind, hand-rubbed impression taken from an `Ahi that a neighbor kindly provided to me. Imprinted onto washi paper using the direct method of gyotaku with soy-based printmaking ink so that it could be enjoyed in a meal afterwards. The paper measures 11 inches x 20 inches and has deckled edges.

Titled in the lower left corner, stamped with my red chop and signed in the lower right corner. Comes with a signed certificate of authenticity.
