Description

Peacock razor wrasse (Iniistius pavo)
Hawaiian name: lae nihi
Japenese name: nabeta

Prized for its moist, succulent white flesh, this peacock wrasse, or nabeta, as it is known locally, is usually only shared among friends and are rarely seen on restaurant menus. A carnivorous fish that lives a mostly solitary life close to the reef bottom, they dive into the sane when threatened.

This is an original rubbing, using soy-based ink and rubbed onto 100% silk. The silk has been permanently dry-mounted to a rice paper backing to give it body. Signed in pencil and stamped with my red chop in the lower right corner.
