Description

The reef triggerfish, also known by its Hawaiian name humuhumunukunukuāpuaʻa is one of several species of triggerfish. It is the state fish of Hawaii. This “humuhumu” was donated by my friends at Maui Fun Charters out of Ma’alaea Harbor.

Original, one-of-a-kind gyotaku printed in the direct method of gyotaku onto washi paper using an archival, water soluble, printmaking ink. It is PH neutral (acid free). The paper measures 11 inches x 13 inches and has a soft deckle edge that will look great in a “floated” fame. To smooth the finished art it has been dry-mounted to a rice backing paper using a traditional mounting method.

One of the main ways to protect your artwork from moisture, dust, and UV rays is to frame it under conservation glass/acrylic which has a coating that blocks the UV rays. A mat is optional, as long as the artwork is not in direct contact with the glass.

Signed in pencil and stamped with my red seal in the lower right corner. It will arrive with a signed certificate of authenticity.
