Description
This is an original, one-of-a-kind, hand-rubbed impression taken from the freshly caught fish. Printed using the “direct method” of gyotaku where ink is applied to the fish and paper is gently laid over it and rubbed by hand to make an impression. I used a rice paper with a deckled edge and I “antiqued” by dying with coffee. I used non-toxic soy ink so that the fish could be returned to fisherman and eaten.
Titled in the lower left corner with its Hawaiian name “`omilu (Caranx melampygus) 10.75 lbs”, signed in pencil and stamped with my red chop in the lower right corner. Includes a signed certificate of authenticity.
