Description
Indigenous to Hawaii, soldierfish, known locally as menpachi, are commonly found in underwater caves around the island.
Printed on Xuan rice paper using non-toxic, plant-based ink. Although I typically paint in the eye after making the imprint, I decided to leave the eye socket blank on this one. With the eye unpainted, I think it looks a lot like a fossil which I really love!
It is titled in the lower left corner “Soldierfish (Myripristis amaena) and signed in the lower right corner then stamped with my red chop (seal). The paper measures 11 in x 14 in. and has deckled edges. It will arrive with a certificate of authenticity.
