Description
This is an original, one-of-a-kind gyotaku of a Weedy Seadragon (Phyllopteryx taeniolatus), printed using the traditional method of gyotaku with ink and washi paper.
Weedy Seadragons are a rare species and, like seahorses, the male carries eggs in their pouch. Their leaf-like appendages provide camouflage and protection. To ensure that this artwork honors and protects endangered Seadragons, a replica was used instead of a real one. This allows you to appreciate the beauty of these magnificent creatures while preserving their habitats and natural populations.
The paper measures 11 inches x 14 inches and features a deckled edge. The artwork is signed, numbered, and stamped with my red seal, and will arrive with a signed and numbered Certificate of Authenticity.
